0-3 Moleskine, the maker of tools for creativity and of the iconic notebook, is set to join the retail line-up on Regent Street in the section of the street between Oxford Circus and Regent’s Park, taking a five year lease with The Crown Estate, on behalf of the Regent Street Partnership.

Moleskine is set to open on the ground floor at 283 Regent Street, later in the summer. The store will stock the full family of Moleskine products: notebooks, journals, diaries, bags, writing and reading accessories and the digitally connected notebooks.

The Crown Estate is delivering a 20 year, £1bn investment programme for Regent Street which, south of Oxford Circus, has involved redeveloping and refurbishing blocks to create new, flagship retail and restaurant space as well as modern office and residential accommodation.

North of Oxford Circus, The Crown Estate is now delivering a distinct strategy for its holdings which focuses on upgrading the retail and leisure offer to meet the needs of the surrounding residential community, as well as shoppers and the increasing numbers of office workers based in the area.

Bob Dawson, Head of Asset Management for The Crown Estate’s Regent Street Portfolio said: “Moleskine will make a fantastic addition to the retail offer on this part of Regent Street where we’re working to deliver a distinct proposition to reflect the unique character of the area. The incorporation of Moleskine is another example of how we’re creating a high quality, lifestyle retail and leisure offer in this part of the West End.”

Moleskine is opening directly operated stores across the globe targeting growing urban hubs. The Regent Street outlet follows recent openings in Singapore at K11 Mall, Frankfurt Airport and Washington DC leading to an existing global network of 42 directly operated stores.

Arrigo Berni, CEO of Moleskine said: “Regent Street is a world renowned destination and a thriving part of the West End. Our direct retail expansion strategy targets metropolitan hubs so this is a perfect location for us to expand our presence in London and it complements our existing locations in Canary Wharf and Covent Garden well.”

Moleskine is the latest brand to join the retail and leisure mix north of Oxford Circus. Previous additions have included the Tatler award winning cycling studio, Psycle, Teds Grooming Room, Dry By and Cycle Republic. The store will be operated by Moleskine’s partner Case London who also manages the other mono-brand Moleskine stores in London.

The Crown Estate manages Regent Street on behalf of the Regent Street Partnership, which comprises The Crown Estate and Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM).
